Last weekend we were a party of 21 in the small function room beside the dining room. Our group was all ages from 18 - 80. Everyone ordered something different off of the menu from the sea food platter to the turkey dinner. Food was great; well prepared, hot, service was friendly. We were all very pleased. I have not been to a Jack Astors in some years but was happy with my choice 1 week ago. Both my Husband and I had a salad to start and fish for entree. We both left there very full and satisfied. Now our server was obviously hungover and not doing the greatest job, but there was always a manager, hostess or another server to get what we needed. I was satisfied and would most definitly return. I came to this restaurant for my father's birthday and the food was incredible. It is an authetic portuguese restaurant on James street in Hamilton. For an appetizer we had the Bruchetta, which is baked pizza style bread topped with tomato, onion and garlic. Yumm! For the dish I ate the Filete com arroz, which is fish filete with seafood rice. The dish cost $17 but was really cheap considering the amount of food that was provided. I will definetely return to this restaurant and recommend anyone to try this place. They have a large menu with many options. If you havent tried portuguese food or just love the food, you wont be disappointed at the Wild Orchid. Lire plus

I have been to Jack Astor's only a few times, and both times the service was great! The atmosphere was also great, very fun, and exciting. You get crayons to colour on the tables and there are funny quotes around the restaurant. My only problem is that when I ordered my food which was a very simple order, it was wrong. My caesar salad had carrots in it and no croutons! Although the food is great and mistakes are made, it is just inconvenient. Aside from the mistakes, it is a great place to go to just hang out with friends, and have a drink or 2. The servers and waitresses are very kind, and they are always on top of everything. The restaurant is also never a mess, I never seen anything even left on the tables when another customer leaves, they are on top of it all right away which is really good. Lire plus

You want super delicious, moist, and tender chicken? Then look no further! They cook their chicken on an open flame grill, and you have the option of a mild, or hot sauce. The hot sauce is rather flavourful, and not really 'hot' at all. They also sell different types of fish that's not listed on the menu. The sides range from fries-potatoes-rice-veggies-garden salad.
